Creating a Custom Map
Open Google My Maps and search for a location. Click to drop a pin. Modify the pin by changing its icon, color, or adding a photo.
To add pins without typing addresses, use the location icon under the search bar. Click anywhere on the map to add a pin. Title and save it.
Add existing map locations by opening their details and clicking "Add to map".
Reorder pins by dragging them in the list.
To create a driving route, select a destination and click the directions icon. Add more destinations in the route field. For step-by-step instructions, click the three dots by the layer name and choose "Step-by-step directions".
Organizing Map Pins
Customize pins by changing their icons, colors, titles, and adding photos. This helps differentiate locations and add useful information.
Rearrange pins by dragging them up or down the list on the left side of the screen. This allows you to organize your itinerary in a logical order.
Converting to a Driving Route
- Select your first destination pin and click the directions icon to create a new "Driving" layer.
- Add more stops by entering location names in the route field.
- Refine your route by dragging pins in the left panel to reorder them.
- Get step-by-step driving instructions by clicking the three dots next to the driving layer's name and selecting "Step-by-step directions".
The custom map can be accessed across devices via Google Maps.

Distance markers can enhance map functionality by setting visibility and interaction zones.
- Set distance filters for individual users or teams to customize map readability based on proximity.
- Adjust visibility settings so certain map sections become visible when users approach designated ranges.
- For team activities, modify distance filters to control access to resources or route details within specific radii.
- Distance filters can be easily cleared or reset as needed to adapt to changing situations or new routes.
